Co-Curricular Clubs

At ECS we pride ourselves in the extensive array of co-curricular clubs we are able to offer.  Through partnership with a number of fantastic organisations we are able to offer exceptional coaching in a number of sports including Hockey, Tennis, Football, Rugby, Netball amongst others.

We also offer a variety of non sports clubs including Art, STEM, Music, Drama, Linguistics, Gardening, Forest School, and more.  There is something to suit every ECS child.

Most clubs are run after school although a few do take place either before school or at lunchtimes. The full schedule can be found below.

Partnerships

KICK

Kick work in partnership with ECS to provide ‘sports and support’ to children across our school to provide sports curriculum lessons, 1:1 mentoring and several co-curricular clubs.

Esher Tennis Club

Our close proximity to Esher Tennis Club offers the perfect opportunity for many ECS children to take part in tennis coaching.  Coaches are on-site daily to collect children for after school tennis coaching for all year groups. Click on the link above for more information and booking.

Surbiton Hockey Club

SHC is one of the most successful hockey clubs in the UK and ECS are fortunate enough to enjoy 2 weekly training sessions coving Years 3-6.  We are proud that many ECS children go on to play for SHC to a high standard.  Hockey Club can be booked through the School using Weduc Payments.

Surrey Netball Coaching

Led by Ana Williams Level 2 coach, Netball enthusiast and ECS Mum, Ana also plays for Oxshott Netball Club in Surrey’s Premier A division and coaches Oxshott Juniors.  We are exceptionally fortunate to have Ana in school twice a week coaching Years 3-6. Ana is passionate about empowering children through Netball, watching them develop physical ability and grow in self confidence and social skills.  Netball Club can be booked through the School using Weduc Payments.

Chatterbox

Chatterbox French Club runs after school on a Tuesday afternoon for all year groups  – Reception through to Year 6. Experienced French Club teachers, Caroline Meares and Cherry Noble, offer a fun and supportive club, where children learn French words and phrases through games, songs and stories. Kidslingo 

In our multi-award-winning Kidslingo co-curricular Spanish clubs, children learn through an action-packed combination of songs, drama, games, Makaton signs, actions, role play and stories.  Our language learning programmes support the national curriculum for each key stage and we help children from all year groups to:

  • Feel joy in their language learning
  • Develop confidence to explore and use the new language
  • Feel successful in their language learning
  • Increase their self-belief in being able to learn new languages throughout their education and beyond
  • Boost the knowledge and cultural capital they need to succeed in life

Drama Academy

Dramacademy offers high-energy, fun-filled weekly workshops combining drama, dance and singing. Sessions are taught to a high standard by professional actors who have years of experience teaching children. We believe that drama benefits all but especially children of this age. Our main goal is child-development and this is at the core of every activity. Our mission is to raise and protect the self-esteem of every child and to develop vital communication and social skills without our students realising because they are having too much fun!

Drama Tree Sing Club

Glee Club, for children in Years R-2, has proved to be a firm favourite! Children will learn six new choreographed songs each term in a mix of styles and genres. The emphasis is on encouraging a lifelong love of music whilst having fun and using their imagination to bring songs to life.

Mini Dance Performers

Led by professional ballet dancer Anna Bungay, Mini-dance Performers is the perfect way to introduce young children to fun dance.  Click on the link above for more information and booking.

11+ tutoring

For those families who would like to explore Grammar School or Independent School routes, the school provides 11+ tutoring in English, Maths and verbal and non-verbal reasoning. To find out more, please contact the school office.
