Welcome to Year 4. It is an exciting year to be in as we will be going on the first of the three residential visits that take place at ECS (outlined below) and studying some fascinating topics.
Our classes are named after the authors: Clive Staples Lewis (4L) taught by Mrs Kainth (Mon-Tues), Miss Brotherton (Wed-Fri) and Rudyard Kipling (4K) taught by Miss Brooks.
There will be specialist teachers for Spanish, Swimming, Dance and PE.
Year 4 Highlights
There are too many to name; here are a few of them:
We will be looking at several Big Enquiry questions throughout the year such as Autumn 1 ‘Why is London such an important city?’ and there will be trips linked to these questions such as The Docklands, National Maritime Museum and Juniper Hall (our 3 day residential). The yearly favourite topic is always World War 2.
Year 4 is when you grow to become independent by organising your belongings, reading record, daily mental maths practice, spelling journal and completing your weekly home learning. We also think you are ready to attempt the learning independently before asking for help.
