How to Apply

Under normal circumstances we would love to welcome you into our school to witness for yourself the warmth of our community, the enthusiasm of our learners and the dedication of our staff.  Of course we are unable to run our normal Open Events in the current circumstances but we hope that our virtual offering will go some way towards helping you to make the decision about the best school for your child.

Start by signing up for our Virtual Open Event; you will be sent a series of videos to tell you more about the school.  You will then be invited to an online Q and A session to ask any questions you might have or just to say hello.

You should also read the applicable Admissions Policy for your year of entry – linked on the right hand side of this page.

Note that our admissions policy has been updated in light of the closure of places of worship during periods of lockdown.  If you are applying under criterion 7, that is with active affiliation to a Christian Church, the requirements relating to church attendance only apply to periods when your church was open.  The following clause has been added to the policy.

“In the event that during the period specified for attendance at worship, the church has been closed for public worship and has not provided alternative premises for that worship, the requirements of these [admissions] arrangements in relation to attendance, will only apply to the period when the church or alternative premises have been available for public worship.”

Please complete the Supplementary Information Form C to confirm the parish church you attend and your period of attendance – we will confirm with the churches when their periods of closure were.

Esher Church School is a very popular local school and, whilst we wish we could offer places to everyone who wishes to attend, we are limited to offering 60 places to children of Reception age each year.  There is usually a waiting list for all year groups in the school, although places do become available from time to time. When this happens we apply our oversubscription criteria to decide which child on the waiting list is offered the place.  If you are not offered a place and wish to appeal please follow this link:
